my friend katie is a personal chef in nyc, and last week we did a shoot together on the upper east side.  she made some dishes, and we shot some promo stuff for her site and clients.  Everything was delicious!  I love manchego cheese.

i just got back from my third trip to nyc in a month and a half, and i moved to east dallas in between trips 2 and 3.  everything has been crazy, and now i have to do my 3rd quarter sales tax.  i promise next week will be a week of blog posts, and as october ends, i will update my website with new work.  until then, i will leave you with this portrait of micah killough i took last week.  he is a chef in dallas, and he and his wife live in my old neighborhood, the oc (oak cliff).

so here are a few shots from brownstone and the ranch shot for this months issue of modern luxury.  to me, the yummiest dish was the gourmet take on chicken and waffles from the ranch.  having lived in crown heights brooklyn, i know chicken and waffles, and these were num num (check out this food blog from friends in nyc)!

my roommate is attempting to perfect the key lime pie this summer. i usually like it when food photos are near to almost perfect looking, but i think the melting whip on top gives this little guy a bit more character.  yay pie!
